About Meg!

I have been painting since 2003, when I was introduced to Dungeons & Dragons while attending University in Phoenix, Arizona. I quickly made a name for myself as a Professional Painter and started taking commissions in 2005. My first staff job was with Reaper Miniatures in Denton, TX where I was a metal caster, warehouse monkey and freelance painter. While at Reaper, I learned a lot about how the table top games industry worked.

Later I was hired on by Privateer Press as an in-house Staff Painter. I worked for Privateer Press for a couple of years, bringing the concept art to life to be used in magazines, as box art and as demo pieces for conventions. I started teaching while at Privateer Press for their very first branded convention, Lock n Load. My classes became a hit and people started clamoring for them all over the world! Since leaving Privateer Press, I have traveled the world teaching beginner and intermediate level painting courses starting with Australia and New Zealand as the first big international tours. I’ve been all over the world teaching including Sweden, Germany, Britain, Belgium and The Netherlands, Canada, and of course, all over the US.

I have also competed internationally since 2007, collecting over 30 titles to my name including several Best in Show awards. I still compete when I have the opportunity to, however, my focus is on teaching and assisting people with realizing their potential.

I moved to Australia in 2015 and haven’t looked back. I’ve scaled back my involvement in the gaming industry in recent years. I’ve been working in Mental Health Disability Supports since 2021 for a program that uses games as therapeutic tools. I am now working as a Mental Health and Wellbeing Supports Coordinator for people with Complex Behavioral needs.

I am planning on returning to University to pursue qualifications to become an Art Therapist. Art has been my therapeutic release for many years, it is the way I center myself and feel grounded. I love to help people! Whether it’s with upskilling someone so they can gain more enjoyment and satisfaction while pursuing their hobby or to find a way to express yourself when words fail you; seeing the transformation as people gain the fulfillment they seek is very rewarding.

Currently, I’m finishing a formal teaching qualification so I can teach formally at the Certificate and Diploma Level in Australia.
